Family Coaching
Family Coaching provides a space for parents to feel supported in navigating the art, the joy and challenge of parenting.
These are some of the questions that we address as we co-create the family way of living and being that you choose to develop.
You will benefit from:
The objective?
How does family coaching happen?
- How do we empower our children to be who they were born to be?
- How do we better manage challenging behaviours and strong emotions (theirs and our own!)?
- How do we improve our connection with our child or teenager?
- What are our strengths as parents?
- What is working well for our family?
- How do I want to grow as a parent?
- When is discipline the right choice and how do we apply it effectively?
- How do we better integrate important core values into our daily family life (Acceptance, empathy, compassion, kindness, respect, trust and forgiveness?)
- How do we foster improved psychological safety and psychological well-being for our family?
- How do I want to educate my child?
These are some of the questions that we address as we co-create the family way of living and being that you choose to develop.
You will benefit from:
- Deep listening: As you share and speak about your personal challenges, I will listen with compassion and non-judgement to provide you with a sense of comfort and relief as we co-nagivate solutions together.
- Thought provoking questions: I will empower you to think in new ways and with increased understanding about family dynamics, patterns of behaviour and emotional reactions to help you arrive at 'a ha' moments with renewed energy and enthusiasm for approaching people and situations in new ways.
- New Information: Every family dynamic is different and every person is a unique being, and so I do not profess to tell you how to parent or what is right for your child. What I do, is support and empower you in navigating the art and challenge of parenting your way, with your child/children or teen/teenagers, and I provide tools and techniques to facilitate improved awareness, management and psychological well-being.
- Confidence: As you begin to make little shifts in yourfocus and apply new approaches and you see them working, your confidence will soar.
- Improved well-being: As challenges are worked through and more time and space is created for your personal needs, while family members get their needs met, well-being improves for all.
The objective?
- Family harmony, which means feeling calmer, more at peace, happier and with improved connection with each other.
- Psychological health and well-being
- Thriving together
- Positive living with the self and each other
How does family coaching happen?
- I prefer to provide family coaching in-person rather than online and so currently I work in the Sotogrande, Cadiz area.
- Sessions are 90-minutes and begin with the parents
- Family members are invited to join at the appropriate time
- 8-12 sessions are generally suggested, although for specific issues, less time may be needed.
If we are at war with our parents, our family, our society, or our church, there is probably a war going on inside us also, so the most basic work for peace is to return to ourselves and create harmony among the elements within us - our feelings, our perceptions, and our mental states. That is why the practice of meditation, looking deeply, is so important. — Nhat Hanh
