Mental Health at Work

This mental health and wellbeing programme is designed to provide senior leaders and managers with the knowledge to create and integrate a mental health culture at work.

Part One: Mental Health Masterclass

1. Understand Mental Health
  • Learn about common mental health-related disorders, their cause, and development
  • Discover the role of attachment and trauma in the development of mental health disorders
  • Become aware of evidence-based treatment options

2. Make it Safe and Approachable
  • Learn what makes it safe for people to approach mental health subjects at work
  • Learn how to be a safe person for people to approach about their mental health
  • Address how you feel about being vulnerable?
  • Consider how you model safe care?
  • Identify where there may be barriers to the conversation?
  • Learn compassionate listening skills

3. Grow Resilience
  • Understand emotional triggers and consider factors at work that may trigger people
  • Learn how to support trigger management
  • Learn techniques to foster resilience
  • During a role-play activity, practice using compassionate listening skills and providing supportive techniques 

4.Monitor and Support
  • Audit your own and your team's mental health
  • Create a monitoring plan
  • Know the warning signs
  • Discuss the boundaries of support
  • Understand what type of professional to refer to
  • Address what continuity of care looks like

Part Two: Vision and Strategy Meeting

With a fresh understanding of mental health in the workplace, now we address the actions that will integrate a mentally healthy culture.

  • Vision: Decide what your mental health culture looks like and be clear on what it does not look like.

  • Strategy: Determine how you will communicate and integrate your organizational mental health policy, and identify the factors that will drive and sustain this culture.
​
  • Action Plan: Define an action plan to implement a mental health and wellbeing culture.

​
Part Three: Integration

​There is an option for coaching to be provided to facilitate the action plan integration.


  • Option one: Coaching is provided to key leaders and HR people, on a monthly basis, as a group or one -to-one, to support action plan integration and measuring of progress
​
  • Option Two: Option one, plus coaching for all senior managers on integrating a mental health culture, monitoring progress, and with facilitation on training their direct reports in driving the mental health culture through the organisation.

  • Knowledge on how to create a safe space to discuss mental health at work
  • Confidence in knowing what is and is not expected of you in supporting colleagues and employees, how to meet these expectations, and how to set healthy boudaries on what you cannot offer. 
  • Experience in practicing compassionate listening
  • Insight on the resilience building tehcniques you can share with others
  • Clarity on company mental health culture and policy, and how to integrate it company-wide
